Voice Consent Script — SMS opt-in
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This page documents how the Walli AI AI receptionist obtains consent to send text messages when a client calls a participating stylist or salon (a “Business”). It is published so carriers and messaging-campaign reviewers can verify our verbal opt-in flow. The full program terms are in our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
When consent is requested
Consent is requested at exactly two moments, always before any text is sent:
- After a booking is made by voice — before sending the appointment confirmation and reminders (Script A).
- When a booking can’t be completed by voice — before texting a link to finish booking online (Script B).
Script A — appointment confirmation and reminders
“Would you like a text confirmation and appointment reminders at this number? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out.”
- If the caller clearly agrees (“yes,” “sure,” “that’s fine”): consent is recorded and the receptionist says, “Great — you’ll get your confirmation by text in a moment.”
- If the caller declines: no text is sent. The receptionist says, “No problem — you’re all set,” and confirms the appointment details by voice instead.
Script B — booking link by text
“I can text you a secure link to finish booking at this number. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Would you like that?”
- If the caller clearly agrees: consent is recorded and one message containing the booking link is sent.
- If the caller declines: no text is sent and the receptionist offers to help by voice or takes a callback request.
Consent rules
- Consent requires a clear, affirmative “yes.” If the response is unclear, the receptionist asks once more; anything other than a clear yes is treated as a decline.
- Declining never affects the caller’s booking or service in any way.
- Verbal consent covers appointment-related messages only (confirmations, reminders, and booking links). It is never used to send marketing or promotional messages.
- Every message sent includes the ability to opt out by replying STOP.
What we record
Each verbal opt-in (or decline) is stored as a consent record containing: the date and time, the caller’s phone number, whether consent was granted or declined, the exact wording that was read to the caller, and a reference to the call it occurred on.
